War Bond Booth Debate Split by Aldermen at Square
In a regular session the Board of Aldermen debated erecting a 6 by 8 foot war bond booth at the Square Corner. The vote tied two to two until Mayor Lloyd Culler broke it, approving the booth but with sidewalk limits. Aldermen preferred sidewalk use only and objected to street extension. The Junior Chamber sought permission to place signs urging citizens to vote Tuesday and to study sewer rates and equipment purchases.
