Escapee Beall Nabbed Near Jail After July Robbery
William E Beall, 39, who escaped Frederick County Jail early last week, was captured Sunday night two blocks from the lockup by Frederick Cry Police. He faces charges from the July 26 armed robbery of Sheffield's Liquors on North Market Street and is placed in maximum security. Sheriff’s deputies say a citizen phone tip led to Beall’s location behind Barbara Fritchie Cabins on West Patrick Street. Beall escaped by tearing a metal screen and lowering himself with a rope. Police officers involved included Sgt Gerald Koogle Det Ahceroe Bartms and others. he was taken into custody without incident.
