Karn Reunion Big turnout at Gathland State Park

Fifty six people attended the Karn reunion on Sunday August 15 at Gathland State Park. Prizes went to youngest Cindy Eaves oldest Nina Himes and Laurel Ray. Mrs. Gerald Karn won for traveling the farthest from Baltimore. Cake sale top bidder Kathy Andrews and cake walk winners Lisa Reid Harry Karn and Garland Ramsburg. Numerous Karn relatives listed attended the event with many families named.

Tell It Like It Is folk musical at Mt St Marys Seminary

Emmitsburg youth present a folk musical titled Tell It Like It Is at Mt. St. Marys Seminary Chapel on Thursday evening September 2 at 8 p m Admission is free and the public is invited The event showcases local youth talent and community support Tie dying at the Teen Center this Saturday invites participation Bring own T shirts and enjoy colorful designs The pool table is again available and recent Tuesday movie showings drew crowds Although the summer program closes this weekend it will continue into the school year

Glenwood Club Hosts Country Store and Bazaar

The Glenwood Community Club will run a country store and bazaar at the 4-H building on the Howard County Fair Grounds from 10 am to 5 pm Thursday to benefit the Howard County Association for Retarded Children. Highlights include bake and antique tables, floral goods, plants, jams and jellies, an attic table, boutique items, light refreshments, lemon sticks, pony rides, and a party basket drawing.

Three Zoning Exceptions Won by Frederick County Board

The Frederick County Board of Zoning Appeals approved three exceptions to the county zoning ordinance. Roscoe S. Gregg may operate a part time butcher shop in an A-1 district on Houck Road south of Beaver Dam Road, seasonally and with a Health Department permit and meat raised locally. Myersville may install a mechanical sewerage plant on Mill Summers Road in A-1 districts with landscaping and tree cover required. A two car garage in a C-1 district on a Routzahn property near U.S. 40A and Dahlgreen Road was approved on a smaller lot.
