Five people were injured when four cars and a motorcycle collided on Route 40, 1,000 feet east of the West Friendship intersection with Route 2. All were taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Injured include Mrs Steffani Weber and Patricia Ann Ryan. A separate Route 40 crash near Mayfield injured no one.

Sister Mary Frances Smith S.S.N.D. longtime president of Notre Dame of Maryland College since 1935 died Friday at Bon Secours Hospital Baltimore. She expanded enrollment to over 400, created art music and drama departments, raised 350000 for Fourier Library, and revived the college accreditation. Funeral Monday at the college chapel with burial in the sisters cemetery. She is survived by a brother, a nephew and a niece.

Youth Slain On Lonely Road Near Silver Spring
Don ald J. Stambaugh 21 was shot four times and fatally wounded on a lonely road near Silver Spring before dawn today. He died in Washington Sanitarium Takoma Park Md about an hour after the shooting. The killer described by the victim as a young blond fellow escaped on foot. identity not known to police. Stambaugh employed six months as a furniture salesman in a Washington department store. Police found his car parked nearby and a motive remains unclear.

Death Toll Rises After Milwaukee Model Train Crash
Two interurban excursion trains collided head-on near Milwaukee killing five initially with more feared dead.
