Pfc Shaw Killed In Action In France Aug 7
Word of the death of Pfc Joseph M Shaw, son of Mr and Mrs John L Shaw east of Frederick, was received this morning. Serving with the 29th Division in France, he was killed in action on August 7. He had been in the Army since July 1943 and had trained at North Camp Hood and Camp Shelby. He graduated Frederick High School in 1938 and earned a BS from the University of Maryland in 1943. He is survived by his parents one sister Elisabeth Shaw Washington one brother John L Jr at home and his paternal grandmother Mrs Breckenridge Shaw South Market Street.
