Homecoming Plan for Middletown Valley Reunion
Middletown residents discuss replacing the annual one day Middletown picnic with a three day Home Coming Week. W W Dowd proposes securing woodlands for an auditorium and booths, with profits aiding construction. The idea follows a record turnout of about 5000 at Saturday’s reunion, and locals see potential for long term growth and regional fair ambiance. The grounds near Josh Harshmah’s property offer ideal picnic space with shade and easy access. Open-air addresses by Rev. Dr. U S G Rupp, Leo Weinberg, Edgar H. McBride, and Rev. C J Hine drew strong crowds, with the Rohretsville Band providing music.

The band program drew praise, and several locals returned from trips or prepared to depart for schools and Europe for study.
