In separate incidents, authorities reported two drug arrests. In an unrelated case on Monday, an officer observed a man and inquired about a possible deal. The man was asked for possible search of a jacket or arm area as part of the investigation.
Fire gutted a house trailer off Md 28 as Carroll Manor firefighters arrived. One resident, coughing from smoke, alerted Urbana and Upper Montgomery fire departments and Citizens Truck Company. No injuries reported.

A Mount St. Marys College sprinter helped control a dorm fire by spraying water on a stove area. Wayne Powell described a cardboard box near the cabinet and casing. the sprinkler system knocked the blaze down but did not extinguish it.
