Local pumpkin patch grower shares best practices and harvests
Robin and Mark Krantz operate Krantz s Produce on Shookstown Road near Frederick growing Howden pumpkins on three acres. They sold about 1 000 pumpkins and produced roughly 5 000 pumpkins this season while sharing timing tips from extension agents and growers. The patch welcomes day care and school groups with hayrides and seasonal hours.
