Pan American World Airways reports sighting wreckage of its missing DC4 near Tangas Mountain six miles east of Annette Island airfield Alaska. The plane carrying 18 disappeared Sunday after encountering severe turbulence. Reports say the wreckage possibly burned as searches continue with a party en route.
Newcomers to Maryland must declare intentions to vote in the 1948 presidential election by Saturday noon at the office of the Circuit Court clerk. Officials corrected reports of a Friday deadline, noting the one year before election rule. From Monday to mid morning 137 persons had appeared to file declarations.
Seventy five Hereford cattle sold at O Sullivan Farms in Charles Town West Virginia. Average price 414 per head up from last year. Highest prices 2500 for a heifer and 100 for a Hereford bull paid by Frank Haas of Waterford Wisconsin.
