Four young men tied to a Monday night hold up at a Dix store near Furnace Ford were arrested after a four year county state and city probe. Russell Schreyer 23 implicated as the shooter surrendered with three accomplices Robert Tracy 21 William Oder 18 and Harry Schreyer 14 all held for questioning. A Packard car was found abandoned at Forest Grove church as the investigation tied the group to the robbery plan and Dixon the 63 year old store owner shot at them but no one was harmed.

In Tulsa Oklahoma October 31 AP report says specially adapted mid continent seismographs may help determine the area under the Antarctic ice cap. A short wave radio station is installed to maintain contact with Admiral Byrd and instruct operators of the delicate instruments. Crisfield Md October 31 AP Sheriff Luther Daugherty announced about ten additional witnesses have been located for the Princess Anne lynching inquiry and may be called before the coroner s jury when it reconvenes at the request of Attorney General William Preston Lane and State s Attorney John B Robbins. The sheriff did not say if the new witnesses would identify any lynchers. Lane planned to travel to Somerset county midweek with several state policemen and two Baltimore detectives.

Three Murder Trials Booked At Hagerstown
In Washington county Maryland three murder trials are set for the November term. Elvin J Fair 22 and Emanuel H Bingaman Jr 19 of Gettysburg Pa are accused of killing Reuben N Sollenberger a Hagerstown auctioneer at a filling station on September 28. The revolver used was found in Fairs possession. Also scheduled is John Smith 19 charged with murdering his cousin Gordon Goodheart at Sandy Hook on May 1. Smith helped plans to escape from jail and was wounded during recapture. Walter Bishop awaiting trial for robbery faces an additional jail breaking charge. Grand jury may indict Mrs Mabel Bragg wife of Russell Bragg and Jacob Bragg on aiding the escape of the four prisoners, three still at large.
