Path Valley Narrow Gauge Railroad Charter Granted
The Path Valley Narrow Gauge Railroad Company is authorized to build a sixteen mile line from Germantown Perry County to Dry Run Franklin County extending Sherman Valley Road. A 400 foot tunnel and a heavy grade are planned. The route will start near Waterford Juniata County and be built wide enough for broad gauge future. Engineer Moorehead has sent grading machinery to Dry Run and the Cumberland Valley Railroad may extend from Richmond to Dry Run to link with the new line providing a shortened route for the Pennsylvania Railroad west of Harrisburg.
