County pledges funds for center
Frederick County Commissioners approved funding for Emmitsburg Community Center with general funds totaling 1.4 million dollars. The project costs 2 million, with plans for grants to offset county costs and rent charges to non county agencies occupying space. Maintenance may be provided by the town to reduce operating expenses as the capital budget for 2000 01 is shaped.
