Hood College students the first time vote Democratic in a mock presidential poll led by Town Hall. Johnson Humphrey captured 61 percent of student ballots over Goldwater with faculty adding to a 82 percent Democratic vote. staff split even as overall adult votes reached 70 percent for the Democrats.

Halloween vandals strike county many areas reported
State Police tracked a busy night of Halloween vandalism starting about 8 30 p m with boxes damaged on Yellow Springs road and in Poplar Heights Bartonsville and Bell s Lane. Vehicles on Bartonsville road pulled up unknown youths jumped out and damaged mail boxes. At McKaig road AT&T underground cables signs and barricades were tossed leaving trenches. City revises subdivision rules final action due

Boy Chased By Girl Runs Into Bus
A 13 year old Frederick boy Freddie C Cleaver was chased by a girl and ran into a Frederick Transit bus on Park Avenue about 3 35 pm He suffered a broken left arm and was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital before being released The bus driver Joseph A Keeney 26 of Woodsboro said he could not avoid the collision No charges were filed by Sgt William McK Bopst.

Miss USA Leona Gage Found Critical After Suicide Attempt
