In the NEC World Junior Championship semifinal, USA-2 built a dominant 44-0 after five deals. John Diamond passed, Brian Platnick raised to game. the heart lead backfired but declarer secured multiple finesses and endplays to reach plus 620. The other room saw USA-2 defender setup-half with four hearts and a later plus 420.
