Two Cases In Court In Mount Airy and Frederick
In magistrates court two cases were heard. Walker Pryor, a 29 year old Black man from Route 1 Mt Airy was charged with reckless driving on Lime Quarry Road October 16 and failing to answer a trial summons. He admitted driving, left the scene, and was fined 15 dollars plus 25 dollars for failing to appear, then jailed 30 days for nonpayment. James Thompson, a 21 year old truck owner, testified Pryor’s car struck his truck and Pryor admitted driving but fled. A separate drunkenness case saw 69 year old Jesse Toberg plead not guilty after two bartenders vouched he was not drunk. others faced multiple fines for various traffic charges. Several defendants forfeited collateral for failing to appear. A list of other local court actions and notices followed, including a public concert announcement and a Naval ROTC recruiting note.
