Parents Should Not Dictate Choice Of Mates For Children
An essay argues parents cannot select suitable spouses for their children. It notes couples succeed when partners choose for themselves, despite parental hopes for prudent matches with money, steadiness, or status. The piece contrasts dreams of romance with practical needs and warns against meddling in marriage choices. The Beil Syndicate, Inc dateline Glasgow, Scotland October 28.
