Banquet Highlights S O L Meeting at Braddock Heights
The Maryland Council Sons and Daughters of Liberty held its annual convention at Vindo Bona Braddock Heights with 137 attendees from local and state councils and the National Council. Howard M Albaugh led the banquet and the program featured guest introductions, music, and awards for Mountville City Council No 12 Frederick for greatest membership gains. The convention opened Thursday morning with welcome remarks by Charles H Remsberg and Rev Dr Charles E Wehler. Officials nominated for state council and other posts were listed, with the election due today.

Temperatures ranged from 45 to 60 degrees as a raw wind, peaking over 20 mph, kept the day cooler than recent warm spells. County Agents Meet to Review Erosion Plan at Braddock Heights
A field meeting of county agents and extension specialists met at the Philip O. Coblentz Braddock Heights farm to review soil erosion control measures begun last spring. O. C. Bruce explained terracing and strip cropping as part of the program aided by the Boonsboro Civilian Conservation Corps camp. the 80 acre farm showed erosion reduction after terraces and contour strips were implemented.
