Delegates to Decide Five Tax Proposals for Frederick County
Frederick County Commissioners failed to reach agreement on which of five taxing authorities is most important in the legislative package. The county will present 11 bills and four position statements to state lawmakers as part of a historically ambitious request. HRC to hear testimony on gay and lesbian rights
The Human Relations Commission will hear testimony from the gay and lesbian community on Tuesday night. Members voted to accept written input of 50 words or less about discrimination in housing jobs and violence. The county has not included sexual orientation in protected groups and will study the need for protection before presenting a plan next year.
