Three Die When One Train Hits Another
A Wabash passenger train from St Louis to Detroit collided with a stalled freight eight miles east of Danville Illinois at night. Three trainmen were killed Engineer Harry Draper Fireman Larry Poe and B F Mageert. Eight others were injured as fire destroyed five freight cars the caboose and damaged a passenger mail and smoker car. Frank Jordan the freight conductor said he signaled but the passenger crew did not see the lantern in fog. The freight train was halted by a broken air line.

Washington Oct 27 AP John L Lewis and his rebel CIO rejected the American Federation of Labor counter peace proposal saying it amounts to surrender.
