Tramps Attack Rail Crew. Two Shot in Outskirts of City
Two men, Daniel Barry of Danville Indiana and William Cowan of Philadelphia, were shot and two others robbed by a gang of tramps along Pennsylvania railroad tracks near Trenton. Barry and Cowan, riding a freight train, were fired upon as tramps demanded hold up their hands. Barry was shot in the breast and Cowan in the side but both are expected to recover. The holdup aimed at robbery. Cowan had no money and Barry's bills remained in his pocket. The other two men, Polish laborers, were relieved of their money. The scene is a known tramp gathering place outside city limits and deemed dangerous.
