Veterans Day Service Set for 2 P.M. in Frederick Park
Vets Day event by Francis Scott Key Post No 11 American Legion will start at 2 p.m. Friday November 11 in Memorial Park Frederick with Rear Admiral Thomas F Stevens commander Naval Security Group Command as guest speaker. In case of bad weather the service moves to Post Home 1450 Taney Ave Frederick.

Wetlands loopholes fuel marsh loss in six state region
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation reports about 4,500 acres of wetlands are destroyed yearly due to regulatory loopholes. Only 1.7 million acres remain in the six state region draining into the bay, with Maryland having lost nearly three quarters of its original marshland. Environmental groups call for stricter enforcement and wetlands replacement as a last resort.
