Laytonsville Growth Fear Sparks Heated Annexation Debate
About 200 Laytonsville residents packed Laytonsville Elementary School to oppose plans to annex 1,438 acres and build 600 to 720 homes near the town, arguing it would erode the community character while supporters cite a park library and amenities. Speakers warned of loss of control and higher density, with Mayor White showing emotion over the town’s future.
