Stiles, a lifelong 4-H and Jersey cattle advocate from Montgomery County, vows to continue guiding youth in dairy projects. He has served 48 years as a local 4-H leader and 50 years with the Maryland Jersey Cattle Club, plus roles with American Jersey Cattle Club and Maryland Purebred Dairy Cattle Association. The National Grange meet will set over 500 resolutions affecting farm policy, taxes, welfare, water and education, with Stiles among honored figures and a closing barbecue hosted by Glade Valley Lions Club.

Farm Bureau dinner set for Urbana Friday night
The Frederick County Farm Bureau will hold its annual dinner Friday Oct 27 at the Urbana Fire Hall. About 359 guests, including officials, will attend a family style dinner served by Urbana Volunteer Fire Company. The program features Gary Grossaickle invoking, David Hawker leading the pledge, and a music act by Friend N Spirit from Hagerstown Junior College. Frei n d N Spirit from Hagerstown Junior College. The event includes a business meeting, officer elections, and elections for the Farm Bureau board. Resolutions on local state and national affairs will be discussed, with delegates later presenting them at the Maryland Farm Bureau convention in Ocean City. Local delegates to the state convention will be announced, and awards will cap the evening. Reservations are requested.
