Sharon Tate Slayer Lost Spectacles

Los Angeles AP police disclosed that the killer who murdered Sharon Tate and four others last August dropped spectacles indicating he was nearsighted. Detectives found thick lensed tortoise shell glasses near Tate’s body, aiding efforts to identify the killer and link the crime to a suspect with near sightedness and a face close to the glasses’ wearer's. The glasses were kept secret to aid the investigation until six weeks ago when eye specialists aided in owner identification. Police believe the killer has replaced or will replace the spectacles and that the owner would need glasses to function normally.
