Duke Roxburghe Wounded in France Not Seriously Hurt

London report states Duke of Roxburghe captain of the Scots Guards was wounded in France but his injuries are not serious. The duke, known in the United States for his marriage to Miss May Goelet in 1903, has a son born September 8, 1913. Also noted, about 1200 civilians killed at Rheims during the German bombardment per the Matin.

German Attacks More Violent In France Belgium

Russia Claims Victory Near Warsaw in Latest Advance

Petrograd reports a great Russian victory over German forces, who retreated after nearing Warsaw within fifteen miles. Russians encircled the German left and rear with cavalry, while Austrians endure heavier losses south of the Vistula. Berlin asserts German gains as Russians suffer casualties. Przemysl reportedly taken, 34,200 Russians captured, and mines hit Swedish ship.
