Nixon Signs Bill Ending Old Laws
President Nixon signed a bill repealing obsolete military regulations that required 16 ounces of tobacco monthly rations for enlisted men and open market procurement of horses and mules. The act removes these and other outdated rules at the Pentagon’s request as Defense officials told Congress the current system suffices for post exchanges and contracts. Troop 1678 leaders and unit members listed among attendees include Mrs. Dean Neff and Mrs. Winona Patrick along with many named cadets.
