German boy given new lease after blue baby operation

Money and blood from U S soldiers helped pay for Klaus Kremmerer a five year old German lad to receive a life saving blue baby operation at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. About 500 members of the Test Artillery in Karlsruhe funded the trip and operation, contributing 2500 dollars. Half the blood used came from Meade soldiers. The boy's mother Mrs Sigrid Kaemmerer flew from Germany to be with him during the three hour surgery.
