Overflow concert opens Frederick series with mixed reception
An overflow crowd greeted Eugene List and the Knickerbocker Players in Frederick as the first Community Concert Association program of the season. The eleven-piece outfit, with piano soloist List, faced balance and conductor challenges, delivering solid Bach and Shostakovich renditions but lacking the full symphonic impact. The Liszt and Gottschalk encores offered variety, while a future Chanticleers appearance is slated for December 2.
