In Crawfordsville Indiana on October 22 a ten year old girl, daughter of Peter Bell of Mercer County Ohio, is found after nine years of alleged captivity with a Gypsy band. She had been forced to beg food and clothing for the group and was rescued when authorities confronted the gang leader near Carthage.

Henry McDonald Sedley a Sheffield Scientific School freshman from New York was arrested for murder in connection with Edward Corrigan’s death.
