Frederick frontier life topic shared by Civic Club
Members and guests of the Frederick Woman's Civic Club learned about early frontier life from 1754 to 1777 at the Cracked Claw on Oct 16. Mr. Booze described militia limits, neighborly aid amid raids, and the English French struggle, Braddock, Franklin advice, and the French and Indian War ending in 1763. He noted immigrant routes, colonial tensions, and phrases still used today like dough buck and keep. A brief business session followed presided by President Barbara Lowery.
