Thompson Is Sentenced For Manslaughter In Jones Shooting
Philip Benjamin Thompson Jr a 19 year old Centerville resident was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced by Judge Thomas M Anderson to three years and nine months in the Maryland Reformatory for Males for the June 27 shooting of Kloman Jones a 19 year old from Kron Bridge. The case sprang from a dispute between two groups of colored youths at the William P Larkin Post American Legion home with Jones allegedly lured outside and shot. Thompson admitted causing the death saying he was sorry.
