Radar sighting linked to glowing airborne object over Fort Meade
A Laytonsville man and Army officers report a glowing ball or saucer seen near Route 108 and Fort Meade. Major Peters and others debunk meteor theories, noting radar picks of an unidentified object while observers describe a fast, disk shaped glow with a red middle band shifting to blue and green. The incident follows other reports of strange sky objects and a separate pursuit ending in a crash on Route 355 after two Montgomery County residents fled a pursuit, yielding arrests for reckless driving and related charges.
