Scout Leaders Urged to Strengthen Local Boy Scouts
Russell Young, Kiwanis guest speaker at Francis Scott Key hotel, urged Kiwanis members to recruit and train more Scout leaders. He noted troops and packs have fallen from three each to 13 troops and two packs, due to wartime service and aging leaders. He stressed boys need a constructive, service oriented program and called for one leader per 16 boys to expand scouting locally.
