Frederick man George Wallace dies at 69
George Wallace a longtime Frederick city lineman died suddenly after being stricken at his home and dying shortly after admission to Frederick City Hospital. He was 69 years old and had served as a city lineman for more than 30 years. He was active in Independent Hose Company and a longtime Democrat. He is survived by his wife Josephine Gittinger, five sons, a daughter, a brother and other relatives. Funeral arrangements were to be announced.

A bronze group memorial to Alabama regiments will be unveiled November 12 at West Confederate Avenue Gettysburg. Governor Pinchot of Pennsylvania and Governor Miller of Alabama will speak, with sculptor Joseph Urner and Hammaker Brothers handling design and casting. The ceremony includes music prayers and presentations to the U S government. The project cost 12000 dollars and honors Major General Forrest and the five Alabama units who fought at Little Round Top on July 2 1863.
