Mrs James Heasley reported a $10 070 diamond theft at her Bucks ham hotel residence Tuesday night with valued jewelry including a marquise ring pearl fan and a watch. John Yorke and Robert Schultz, hotel staff, were arrested following the robbery.
The City of Everett reported a 29 hour struggle to stay afloat after heavy seas broke a plate and flooded the forepeak on October 9. Wireless telegraphy guided rescue by Captain J. F. Lucas who stood by for 23 hours until flooding was controlled and repairs allowed passage.
David W. Henderson, once a wealthy commission merchant, was discharged by Judge Holland in the U S district court after spending over a year and a quarter in county prison for contempt of court. He had been arraigned on a charge related to bankruptcy funds and claimed his assets were spent on drinking and gambling. The court did not believe him and he remained in prison for failing to produce funds. No explanation was offered for his discharge.
