Frederick County deputies and divers recovered the body of Philip Winters a 19 year old Towson University sophomore from the pond near his parents home on Spring Road He had been missing since Friday night after his car was pulled from the water Officers said investigators initially believed he may have escaped from the vehicle The Germantown Volunteer Fire Department underwater rescue team joined the search arriving about 10:30 a.m Two divers entered the pond at 11:05 a.m and recovered the body The car was found Sunday with the gear shift in place and the family mourns at home

Woodbine man killed in Baltimore murder shocks community
A 23 year old Woodbine man, Justin R. Alban, who worked for the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration in Frederick and played in the Frederick Softball League, was murdered Friday night in Baltimore. He parked his 1999 Chevrolet pickup on Hollins Street about 10:25 p.m. when a pair of suspects approached and shot him in the upper torso. Alban drove east before stopping. he was found in the road and died at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He had recently completed four years in the U.S. Army with service in Germany and Bosnia. He leaves his parents, Kenneth R. Alban and Deana L. Griffin Alban, and sister Kelly in Woodbine. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel in Sykesville.

Reclaiming Gods House From Satan in Burkittsville
About two dozen worshippers from Mount Zion AME Knoxville returned to the abandoned Ceres Bethel AME Church to reclaim the 129 year old building.
