Redistricting talks stall as Maryland committee negotiates
A conference committee of state lawmakers met three times this week with little progress on a compromise redistricting plan. Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. said the talks stalled in Frederick as lawmakers prepare for reconvening to act before next Friday’s deadline. The plans center on creating a new black-majority district in Prince George's County and a safe seat for Steny Hoyer, while shifting Anne Arundel voters into the 1st District and keeping Frederick County in the 6th.
