German sister city shares traits with Frederick
Schifferstadt Mayor Edwin Mayer toured Frederick noting shared features such as narrow streets and churches. The visit contrasted pit bull laws and mosque debates, linking Schifferstadt’s tax hike and Germany’s mosque controversy to Frederick County politics. The nine day exchange includes tours of Hood College, Fort Detrick, and the Oktoberfest at the Schifferstadt Architectural Museum.
