The American Lung Association of Maryland Inc held its first annual meeting after four regional offices merged. A new two year slate was elected including president William Follett and president elect James Baer. The organization runs programs on smoking, pediatric and adult lung disease, and environmental health. A separate public hearing on county police protection is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 24 in Winchester Hall Frederick.
