Thurmont Wallpaper Rested at White House with Scenic America
The National Society of Interior Designers credits Thurmont in Frederick County for contributing the Zuber Scenic America wallpaper used in the White House Diplomatic Reception room. William Jones ordered the hand-printed paper in six rooms and it was later restored by Guerther in New York with help from Smithsonian and Mrs Kennedy. The find sparked renewed interest in historic Americana.
