Milbourne Dies at 82 Former Maryland public servant and broadcaster
Lewis Morris Milbourne 82, a longtime Maryland public official and broadcaster, died yesterday. Monrovia Man Injured In Route 40 Crash Near New Market
Donald Duvall, 27, of Monrovia, is in critical condition with a fractured skull after an early morning automobile crash on Route 40 west of New Market. Mutiny Ends At West Virginia State Penitentiary
In Moundsville, 1400 inmates ended an eight hour revolt at the 85 year old State Penitentiary after Warden Skeen invited mutineers to return to their cells and be fed. Prisoners had stormed the power house and commissary as guards fled. The yard was cleared in minutes and hunger drove many to rejoin the cells as the warden promised meals once they were inside. The prison houses 1761 inmates, well over its 900 capacity, with overcrowding and resource strains noted by officials. State Police Maj. Boyles and the warden spoke to the inmates via loudspeaker to urge surrender and order.
