In New York on October 16 a saloon run by Shaug Draper became the scene of a bloody affray. Two of the city’s noted criminals, John Irving and Tack Walh, were killed in a duel that began after a quarrel among thieves. Police arrested Daly Porter and others connected to the saloon as a jury prepared to hear the Durllacs case this afternoon.

Each company drilled with 32 men for 30 minutes. judges and crowd praised all, with the Washington Cadets led by Captain C. A. Fleetwood winning laurel among the capable displays.
Cureaco Oct 16 Florence H. Peters cashier for Lyon and Slealy musical instrument dealers was arrested after confessing he took twelve thousand dollars of the firm’s money and lost it at faro last night.
Winfield and George Smith aged 11 and 17, brothers from Columbia, visited Henry Struck at his residence in Lancaster borough at 1 am and attacked him with dirk knives, disemboweling him. Struck died early this morning. A family feud preceded the quarrel. The murderers were arrested and jailed in Lancaster.
Greitlwagoner of Greenpoint jailed for twelve years and six months after pleading to a railaway beach spree robbery. Accomplices Stewart and Lorenz Meyer of New York also sentenced to state prison terms.
Brayard Garland was shot in the abdomen Monday evening by Decker, a son in law. An argument arose and when Bray advanced, Decker fired a pistol. The ball glanced the back near the spine. Bray may recover.

Mr Jacob Schmidt and Miss Laura Fout, both of this city, were married yesterday at 12 15 at the Lutheran Parsonage by Rev Dr Diehl.
