Paving New Driveway by Frederick Quakers Uses Open Grid System

Nick Funkhouser and John Darnell install an open grid paving system at the Frederick Quaker Meeting House on North Market Street. The environmentally sound paving blends recycled plastic and concrete to allow stormwater to seep into the ground, reducing runoff. After backfilling with soil sand grass seed and fertilizer the grass will cover the pavers leaving white concrete tops visible as a checkerboard pattern.
