Two Injured In Car Crash Near Keymar Route 71
Two persons were injured in a one car crash about 12.10 this morning half a mile south of Keymar on Route 71. John F. Burns of Washington drove a 1917 Chevrolet owned by Charles W. Nelson of Washington toward Frederick when the car left the highway, crashed through a fence, tore off a pole, traveled 148 yards, veered back toward the road, struck a mailbox stump, and ended atop a mailbox. Miss Margaret Beall of Washington suffered a lacerated scalp and possible concussion. Burns had a bruised chest and facial lacerations. Nelson escaped injury. Woodsboro first responders aided them. they were treated by Dr. McVaughin in Taneytown and later taken to Washington by ambulance. State Police are investigating.
