Grove Low On Md. 17 Work
The State Roads Commission announced M J Grove Lime Co of Lime Kiln submitted the low bid of 51 117 893 27 to grade drain and surface 3 15 miles of Maryland 17 from east of Burkittsville to Middletown The project includes extensive grading and may not be completed in 1959 The roadway will be 24 feet wide with 12 foot shoulders and a future second lane may be added The surface will be similar to the Frederick bypass bituminous concrete on macadam base The old highway is being upgraded and plans call for possible reuse of the Catoctin Creek bridge south of Middletown Maryland 17 runs from Brunswick to Wolfsville
