HUD grant to aid West All Saints revitalization project

Additional grant items include coins operated laundry, home rehabilitation, rental unit rehabilitation, and a Fish Market Economic Development Project to serve low income buyers. The proposal, including two new staff for the Section 8 program, totals about 1.0 million. The mayor and aldermen will consider the plan Nov 4 with HUD due Nov 8. final funding decisions hinge on competitive statewide awards by February. Mayor Young noted SFIA meetings addressing truck traffic noise and truck route siting.
