Escapees Caught In Stolen Car
Two Pennsylvania prisoners escaped from a Jonestown work detail and fled in a stolen 1964 station wagon. Elam Shaeffer Jr. and Richard Gingrich, both in jail on $5,000 bonds, were recaptured near Pine Grove by state police after wrecking one car and stealing another. Hunter Finds Navy's Missing Papers Pod Discovery Near Ellicott City
Gilmore Harrison of Baltimore found a bright orange, five-foot aircraft cargo pod while hunting near Ellicott City Maryland. The pod contained classified papers that had been lost by the Navy two months earlier when dropped from a jet liner. Naval officials say the papers appeared to be sensitive.
