Bootlegger Gets Three Months In Maryland Court
In Peoples Court this morning Alexander Stroud, 35, Baltimore, was convicted of selling a half pint of whiskey for 36 cents and sentenced to three months in the House of Correction. Sheriff Crum testified to the stakeout at Stall 62. Stroud fled but was captured with bottles found in a bag and a case. Also mentioned were cases against Claude Brown for operating slot machines at the Fairgrounds and others for vagrancy and drunkenness as part of a broader docket from the Fair. Squirrel hunting season ends today in Frederick County
Frederick County hunters enter a monthlong pause as squirrel season closes today after opening September 15.
