Frederick man convicted on four counts of illegal liquor sales was sentenced to six months in the state jail and fined $250 with two counts concurrent. Other cases include support-for-family convictions, suspended sentences, and appeals underway for Adkins and related defendants.
In Boston on October 14 AP reports a hand to hand clash outside the American Federation of Labor convention hall. Police moved to disperse demonstrators after denying entrance to the Hotel Milford where sessions were held. Mounted officers arrived as fights spread along Tremont Street with women among the Communist ranks.
A chaotic scene in the Awish hall saw hundreds chant down with the king as they tore a life picture of Kirt Alferso, damaged the frame, and mounted a defaced image while shouting their refrain.
Washington October 14 AP press service reports that De Lyman Wittur secretary of the SP will remain in his position while Leland Stanford University extends his leave of absence as needed due to illness.

The Patesi-Teachers Association of Calonville held a Thursday evening meeting led by vice president Mrs Guy Baker. Mrs Stering Grumbine was elected president and Mrs Wilbur Baker first vice president with Mrs Nor second vice president Hess Boontz treasurer and Miss Earete as delegate. Delegates and alternates to the State Parent-Teacher convention were named. The program featured songs and an address by J C Beh and performances by Reuben and Rae.
At 8.24 p.m. 49 Grimes and members of the Sinted group with Mayor Carter and board members attended the Lions club gathering to hear International President Earle W. Hodges. The meeting was agreed to start one hour later than usual for the visit.

In Centerville Michigan Thomas Martin 30 and James Gallagher 28 were sentenced to life imprisonment twelve hours after capture for the murder of state trooper John Burck who was shot during the Battle Creek bank robbery. The pair pleaded guilty to murder charges.
