Police raid at a Gaithersburg residence friday night nets three arrests on receiving stolen goods charges. James Penneywell Jr. 38 of 195 Quince Orchard Blvd Gaithersburg and William Jacobs 59 of West Patrick Street along with Warren Layer 21 of Adamstown face charges. Investigators say over four thousand dollars worth of citizen band radios monitors and tape players were stolen in Frederick County and Frederick City in the prior three months. The operation involved state police detectives undercover agents and Frederick City detectives under warrants.
The C and P Telephone Company delays underground wiring on South Market Street amid a city injunction petition filed by 18 residents. Officials cite counsel advice and await Oct 23 court hearing while Potomac Edison proceeds, with 70 percent of high voltage conduits buried and full burial expected after Christmas.
Kinderfest planned for October 25 at Rose Hill Manor runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a colonial theme and a ghost appearance.
